Step 2: Visit the nearest ALC to your location to fill out an application form. You will need to provide your personal information on the form like your name, address, contact details, and other vital details,

Step 3: Pay the designated fee for MS-CIT course at the ALC,

Step 4: Present a passport photo and ID card (if requested) to complete your application at the centre,

Step 5: You will receive a unique username and password once your application is completed. You can access the MKCL website with these login details to access more details about the MSCIT course and examination.

You will also receive a notification from the ALC you registered in with details about your scheduled exam date after taking this course. Consult the ALC facilitator at intervals to get relevant details about the exam before your scheduled exam date.

MS-CIT 2024 Eligibility

Educational qualification

There is no minimum educational qualification required to take the MSCIT course. However, it is a course recommended for persons after 10th or higher. Students below the 10th Standard can take the test if they are confident in their IT literacy skills.

Basic computer knowledge

Candidates are expected to possess basic knowledge of computers and accessories. This means that MSCIT course applicants should know how to:

  • use computer accessories like a mouse or keyboard,
  • open computer programs, and
  • create / edit records on processing packages

These basic actions are required to pass the MSCIT exam after going through its course modules.

There are no age restrictions (or age relaxations) for applicants willing to take the MSCIT course.

Module 1: Computer Basics and Web Concepts

  • Fundamental concepts about the Web like the internet, browsers, electronic mails, and social media,
  • Basic concepts of cybersecurity

Module 2: Word Processing

  • Creating, editing, and storing information on word processing packages like Microsoft Word,
  • Content organization,
  • Embedding and editing pictures, tables, and other information on word processing packages,
  • Creation and administration of mail blending archives on Word documents

Module 3: Spreadsheets

  • Creation and editing of spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel or similar applications
  • Data entry and organization on spreadsheets
  • Creation of formulas on sheets
  • Creating, organization, and editing of charts

Module 4: Introduction to PowerPoint

  • Creation and editing of PowerPoint (.ppt) slides,
  • Embedding and editing videos, pictures, and other content on .ppt slides,
  • Applying animations and slideshow on created .ppt,

Module 5: Programming

  • Knowledge of essential programming concepts like factors, sorts, and other information,
  • Basic concepts of C programming
