• Unreserved – Features an upper limit of 35 years
• OBC – Assigned an age relaxation of up to 38 years

Postal Service Mail Carrier

The age limit for becoming a postal service mail carrier in India is between 18 to 25 years. There are no relaxations on the lower limit. Aspiring candidates must meet the age requirement to secure a role in the field.

• SC and ST – If you fall in this group, you can enjoy an age extension of up to f 5 years.

• Person with Disability (OBC) – Up to 13 years age relaxation on upper limit.

Defensive Service (Indian Army, Navy, Air Force)

To qualify for this government job for general category, you must be between the 19 to 25 years. However, there are some few age relaxations as outlined below:

• Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes – The upper limit is relaxed by 5 years making it 30.

Persons with Disability

• Unreserved – Allowed and addition of 10 years to the upper limit
• Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes – You get an extra 13 years above the maximum age limit.
• Other Backward Class – This group enjoys a 13-year age limit extension.

Be aware that widows and women divorced judicially from their husbands and not remarried also enjoy age relaxations for this role.  The maximum age limit is extended to 35 years and 40 years for candidate classified under Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. For meritorious sports-persons, a relaxation of 5 years and 10 years is given to those belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

Banking Sector (Clerical Positions)

The age limit for this general category ranges between 20 to 28 years.  However, you can enjoy some extensions if you fall under any of the groups listed below:

• Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes – Allowed an addition of 5 years over the upper age limit
• Other Backwards Class – This group enjoys an age relaxation of 3 years above the standard age limit.
• Persons with Disability – Allowed a relaxation of 10 years over the upper age limit.
• Widows and divorced women judicially separated from their husbands – This category gets an age extension of 35 years and 38 years respectively for those classified under Other Backward Class
• Ex- Servicemen – Relaxation upper limit is calculated on years spent during service plus 3 years. For disabled candidates an addition of 8 years is added to period of service.

Emergency Medical Technician

You must have attained the age of 18 years to apply for an EMT position. Meanwhile, the maximum age limit for the post is 35 years. Granted, there are some exemptions. But only a few groups qualify. They include:

• Other Backwards Class – The upper age limit for this category is relaxed by 3 years making the maximum tenure 38.
• Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes – A 5-year age extension is applicable to candidates in this group.
• Persons with Disability – Aspirants in this category are allowed a relaxation of 10 years. Those falling in Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and other Backwards Class receive a relaxation of 15 and 13 years respectively.
• Widows and women divorced judicially and are not remarried – Allowed an upper limit of 35 years. Candidates classified under Scheduled Castes and Scheduled tribes are allowed an upper limit of 40 years
• Meritorious Sports-persons – Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years and by 10 years for candidate classified under Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes division.
